2009 Acorn Alpha 2 Progress

SLiM

For some reason the Numlock bug was still around. I think what happened is that I made the correction in the config file, posted that I had made the correction, then I had to start over and lost the changes. It's also possible I did make the edit and it was overwritten by a later update.

/etc/slim.conf should have:

numlock off

instead of:

#numlock on

Package Updates

Since the new LXPanel menu now conforms to the new PCLinuxOS standard, I have a bunch of packages I have to redo. I've also found out that the new LXPanel seems to have an issue with the Office sub-menu which I'm trying to fix.

Updated 2008.1 Droplet

With the PCLinuxOS “Big Update”, you have to download about 90MB to update a clean install of Droplet. Throw in the updated kernel and at 125MB, the download approaches the size of the original ISO. So I'm going to be working on an update/bugfix release to Droplet as well as 2009 Acorn.

Well, I haven't said a whole lot, but I've covered a lot of ground and as you can see, I'm fairly busy in Linux-land1) so I'll close here until next time.

1) not to mention my studies
