Apps Not Working
Some of the apps I download from the internet will not run on my computer. It has TinyMe2008 Final on it. The apps included work fine, even firefox and BMP worked fine, but Cube, the cube3d demo, and prboom wouldn't run when I clicked on their applications, and zsnes would't work in opengl mode. Is there something i can do to fix this? I am running on an HP Omnibook XE2 w/an ESS Maestro soundcard and a trident cyberblade video card on a PII 333 Mhz and 64 MB Memory.

Re: Apps Not Working
The trident cyberblade doesn't have 3d working in xorg... and had only experimental 3d in xfree.
So your 3d applications will run slowly if at all.

You could try compiling the xfree trident module for xorg or you could try compiling xfree86 4.4, which is the last known version with any support for the trident, and then compiling the drm module and inserting it. Of course it may also be included in 4.7, and simply not documented, so you may want to try both.

You'd have to remove your current xorg if you choose xfree86 however

Check here for xfree86-4.4 http://www.xfree86.org/releases/rel440.html
And here for the trident module http://www.xfree86.org/~alanh/

Re: Apps Not Working
Did you installed the apps from synaptic or from outside sources?

If he has BMP, then it's from outside. Please read "How to Keep Your System in Good Order" in the Welcome Center.
